Community Intervention Teams (CITs) aim to improve community knowledge and preparedness by directly engaging local members.
Community Intervention Teams (CITs) are trained and equipped to identify risks, address them through community risk reduction plans, raise awareness among the population, monitor priority hazards, disseminate alerts and respond during the first hours of a disaster – for example through needs assessments and/or distributions – while awaiting the arrival of local authorities (municipalities, prefectures, etc.) or humanitarian actors.
