Planning ahead is essential: so start arranging your leave requests at the time you start planning your rota.
Remember, your leaves can only be granted AFTER your rota is set, so rules can be applied. Therefore, the first step of your leave planning is to ensure you have the right rota: avoid shifts rostered in for twilight or nights (or weekends and B/Hs) on the days you intend to be away!
