Through classes, workshops and other learning opportunities, the Northwell Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI) helps employees develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to support Northwell Health's strategic and business goals. CLI helps build a culture dedicated to innovation, continuous change, teamwork and excellence.
The Patient Safety Institute (PSI) is the simulation center for Northwell Health, the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. With 20 simulation rooms, including an operating room and catheterization lab, it is designed to develop capabilities that are critical during low-frequency, high-risk events. Educational activities stress experiential learning, and emphasize teamwork and communication skills.
Simulation in the clinical space. Through our simulation program, we have built robust multidisciplinary in-situ programs. We conduct simulations where we practice and where we treat patients. With an emphasis on team work and interdisciplinary communication, we are able to elevate both simulation and patient care.
The Bioskills Education Center is a 6,200-square-foot, state-of-the-art education facility that brings the latest operative techniques to Northwell Health.The center offers surgical training, continuing medical education and research with the most advanced video and endoscopic surgical equipment and other technology. It is dedicated to providing an exceptional hands-on experience using cadaveric specimens in regional, national and international workshops for a variety of audiences, including physicians, medical professionals, associations and vendors.
Established in 2008, the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell was founded by two equal partners: Hofstra University and Northwell Health.
The school is built upon the strong clinical and graduate medical education programs of Northwell, as well as the robust research and academic programs of both Hofstra and Northwell’s Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. The Zucker School of Medicine has been recognized among the top medical schools nationwide for medical research (U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020), and enrolls a diverse community of over 400 students.
