Empowering Girls: Reimagining Female Stories of the Past and Present

A Curriculum for Public Humanities Engagement Projects bridging Classics and the Modern World

Mission of the Project

This project seeks to create an interactive, thought-provoking space for young girls to reflect on their identity as active community members and the multiple roles they can assume by discussing the stories of inspirational ancient Greco-Roman figures alongside contemporary women. It also aims to foster an environment wherein participants will have the chance to connect with the narratives about women’s identities and to consider their own roles in our society.

Click on the four individual events below if you'd like to recreate and/or adapt some or all of them and work on expanding your own program with similar goals.
