SC Works is South Carolina's statewide agency for helping you develop your skills and find a job.  The Greenville office of SC Works is located at McAlister Square on South Pleasantburg Drive. 

Job Search Engines

Today's job ads are online. Most companies have a career link on their website, so check there first if you are targeting a specific company.   Here are some of the more popular search engines.  With any of these you can set up search agents to automatically email you jobs based on your criteria. 

• Indeed aggregates postings from  thousands of corporate websites.  It is the most comprehensive job board.  Post your resume on  Indeed. 

• LinkedIn lists jobs based on skills.  This is where recruiters can find you.  See also the  Resources tab for details on building your LinkedIn profile.  

• SC Information Highway lists jobs by region and city for South Carolina.  Links take you to the company job sites where you can apply.

Before apply, make sure your resume is complete and spell-checked.  Be prepared to upload your resume into their online application form.  

Recruiters

Recruiters find people for jobs, not jobs for people.  There are literally thousands of recruiters.  A few handle retained executive search while most  handle direct hire assignments for their clients.  Some specialize in particular industries or job functions.  In all cases recruiters work for the hiring company and are either retained or paid a finder's fee.  We recommend that you submit your resume to a select few firms and/or connect with specific recruiters on LInkedIn.  To help you decide here are some of the larger local firms.  Even if they don't currently list a job you're looking for this often changes daily.  

• Find Great People  supports accounting and finance, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, human resources, government, non-profit and more.

• Godshall  recruits for sales & marketing, banking, finance and accounting, healthcare, manufacturing/engineering & technology. 

• ICAP Solutions specializes in technology jobs. 

• MAU Workforce Solutions provides outsourced staffing for BMW and other automotive manufacturing companies. 

• OpSource Staffing handles jobs in construction and skilled trades as well as manufacturing and industrial jobs. 

• Robert Half specializes in accounting,  administrative, creative & marketing and technology  jobs. 

• Recruiting Solutions specializes in office professionals, industrial and technology jobs and also handles executive search assignments 

• The Kidder Group  specializes in manufacturing and engineering.  

Career Development Partners 

• Greenville Technical College offers a full array of career development programs for those seeking to upgrade their skills.   

• The Job Connection at Goodwill offers free or low cost pathways  and vocational programs, including health care, transportation & logistics, skilled trades,  clean technology and technology.   

• For those without a computer, branches of the Greenville County Public Library provide Wi-Fi access and public computers.
