2D design from AutoCAD that would be uploaded into Fusion 360
Fusion 360 video shows problems that the CNC might have when cutting, after finding area problems, would take the piece back into AutoCAD and fix them and repeat that process until everything fixed.
The CNC machine cuts the medal using air pressure and the drill. Underneath the medal plate being cut is medal beams, they have water and other chemicals so that the medal doesn't rust. The water is needed to control the plasma and to not cause a fire from over heating.
The machine would cut the 2D shape that is in Fusion 360 and as long as your measurements were exact your piece would come out good.
After the CNC cut out the piece we washed off extra grim that would have been left on it, and then chisel off the little medal bits that were left behind.
There's an extra step of grinding off the first layer of the medal to make it shiny but I decided not to do that
