Learning how to make the cars, we had to make wheels, washers, and a cartridge.
These were all necessary to make sure everything would fit properly. Making an assembly using the parts allowed me to see what I was making put all together in a 3D model.
This allowed me to make sure everything was within the parameters that were needed.
This is the drawing and pictures of the final car design.
This was the sim flow completed showing the drag and lift of the car.
Thumbnail Sketch and research
This is the design that I came up with for my car design. I wanted it to be a circle with a spoiler on it. in the end, I wasn't able to add the spoiler and had to make cutouts for the wheels to keep them within parameters.
In the first design, the car made had the tires covered, and a spoiler added.
the issue with this car was the it was two wide, and there was a fear that the axles would not be able to fix properly.
The final design, had an open wheel concept to make it easier for the wheels to fit, and it was made smaller.
The concern with this one was that the cartridge holder wasn't going to print properly, so I had to give it enough leeway to make it work without messing with the wheels to much.
this was the car in print, and I added supports seen in the picture on the right.
