Collaborative Project

I feel that collaboration is when people come together to work on something. Each person brings different skills and ideas to whatever project they are working together on. Collaboration not only creates an environment where individuals can work together to work on something, but collaboration pushes each individual involved to become more creative and push one another to be their best. They come together to reach a common goal and make that common goal the best it can be. I feel collaboration is a great medium to inspire others and become more creative, while networking with other individuals. Collaboration has the ability to bring out the best ideas each individual involved has and can bring about the most positive attributes each person has to contribute. Without collaboration, I feel that there would be a lack of creativity in projects and there would be no innovation. Collaboration is powerful and can take any individual idea and elevate it from acceptable to inspirational.

Collaborative Tool:

• Flowdock is a collaboration app where companies can communicate both internally and externally with vendors and investors. You can create conversation streams in both a one on one environment, as well as in a group setting. This app can also be used to collaborate through not just video chats, but also screen sharing as well. This app allows for collaboration even when all individuals are not in the same area. This allows for not only efficiency but also allows for ideas to flow more naturally. I feel one of the most unique aspects in this app was the fact that you can video chat, screen-share, and also message not just co-workers, but to those who are also important to the company externally.

Online Networking & Collaboration:

• I feel that both networking and collaboration are extremely important not just in the professional world, but in a personal environment as well. I feel networking is the building of relationships with any person you can. Networking not only allows for you to become acquainted with the people around you but allows for you to become connected to them in a professional way. Networking proves important when looking for future job opportunities as well as in business endeavors. Collaboration is equally as important. It is a way to create an environment where individuals can share ideas for one common goal to improve its outcome.

• I feel that there are a few ways in which I can enhance my LinkedIn profile. While looking through some of my settings, I found that my account was not on public, making it so that not every professional on the site would be able to view my page. I feel that making my page public, I will be able to make my presence on LinkedIn stronger. Another way in which I felt I could enhance my profile was through adding in my experience and endorsed skills to my page. Initially I had just uploaded my resume making it so that in a glance, professionals would not be able to see any of my skills and experience unless searching for my resume. Through updating my page and having those skills and experiences easier to see, I feel it makes my profile more competitive and easy to view.

How will you protect your privacy online?

• I will protect my online privacy several ways. I feel that limiting the amount of information on my profiles in public settings is important. Things such as my personal phone number, address, and email should be given out to those who I know and feel safe giving them to. Having this information readily available can become dangerous. Along with being conscious of the information I have available on my online profiles, I feel that those who you connect with can also affect your online privacy. We live in an era in which it has become less about the quality of the individuals you are connected with, but the volume. While I feel that networking is essential, I still feel that filtering through everyone who has access to personal profiles is very important.Lesson Learn (100-150 words).

Lesson Learned

• Through looking at online profiles and communication, I have learned a lot about the importance of both online presence and online security. In online profiles, every aspect of the information present on the profile is important. If it is not professional and impactful, it will affect how you network. Networking can be make-or-break when looking for a job in the professional world, and it all start with how well you can portray yourself in your online profiles. Each aspect of your online presence, networking, and collaboration is interconnected. Collaboration within networking is very important, showing that you can be a part of a team and work together, as well as have ideas that can enhance conversation.
