○ Understands and embraces the model of embedded tutoring 

■ Defines parameters for their program(s) (who does what & when) and determines budget and priorities

 ○ Selects, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises tutors 

■ Uses some set of criteria to match tutors with courses and instructors 

○ Facilitates communication between tutor and instructor and other constituents as needed 

■ Before assigning classes, communicates with instructors and evaluates their commitment to the embedded tutoring model 

  ■ Creates educational material and/or leads formal or informal training specific to embedded tutoring for tutors and instructors

  ■ Confirms tutors’ and instructors’ understanding of the embedded tutoring model

  ■ Communicates with tutors and instructors to provide and receive feedback  

○ Tracks basic information and/or data about their program ○ Must provide opportunities for students to engage with tutoring outside of the instructor-led space, whether with the embedded tutor or other Learning Center staff or tutors
