Glossary of Terms
"Generally refers to any instructional method that engages students in the learning process beyond listening and passive note taking. Active learning approaches promote skill development and higher order thinking through activities that might include reading, writing, and/or discussion.
Metacognition -- thinking about one’s thinking -- can also be an important element, helping students connect course activities to their learning."

A learning environment designed by the instructor where the instructor intentionally facilitates and engages with the students and the tutor.
The instructor will actively monitor, adjust, and adapt the learning environment as necessary.
The space can be synchronous or asynchronous and in any modality.
Someone who has general oversight of the embedded tutor program. They are responsible for hiring, training, and supervising the embedded tutor.
