The Share Literacy Program has been developed to aid nonprofit agencies serving economically disadvantaged communities. Through Share Literacy, we provide books for children to keep and ancillary educational materials: CDs, DVDs, Home Literacy Kits, Teacher Activity Guides and Lesson Plans. Professional Development training is also available, tailored to the needs of your organization. Materials and training are provided at cost. The Laura Bush Foundation for America’s Libraries awards grants to school libraries for up to $6,000 to expand, update and diversify their library book collections. Grants for 2017 were awarded to school libraries which had sustained damage from natural disasters. You may add your name to the list to be notified when the application window is open. Established in 2006, the $2,500 AASL Innovative Reading Grant supports the planning and implementation of a unique and innovative program for children which motivates and encourages reading, especially with struggling readers.
