The district purchased land North of La Toska restaurant to support the future expansion of the L. Kim Lewis Auxiliary Services Facility, ensuring we can continue to meet the operational needs of CHISD. 

Transportation Facility Upgrades – Renovations and expansion of the CHISD Transportation Facility are currently underway. Planned improvements include:

1. Additional shop bays for vehicle maintenance

2. A new fuel station for district vehicles

3. A dedicated bus wash, eliminating the need for off-site cleaning

7 buses were purchased in Fall 2025 and delivered in January 2026 (three - 54 passenger buses and four - 77 passenger buses)

10 buses were purchased in Spring 2026 (three - SPED 54 passenger buses and seven - 77 passenger buses) with an anticipated delivery date of August 2026.
