School Programs
As part of the school’s philosophy, we promote and advance the holistic and harmonious development of the physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions of human nature.
Physical
In Kindergarten, children are given opportunities for movement and active play to develop their gross and fine motor skills. It provides a chance for them to interact and develop connections which contribute to language and social development. During playtime students have the chance to take part in active physical activity in our indoor playroom or outdoor playground where they get to run, crawl, climb, swing and do a host of other things. During circle time students may sing or dance and play games that keep their mind and body active. During snack or lunch time children use utensils to eat and clean up after themselves. As much as possible we strive to provide daily movement activities both indoors and outdoors.
Mental
In Kindergarten, children build a foundation for later academic disciplines. They are learning questioning, spatial relationships, problem solving, imitation, memory, number sense, classification and symbolic play. Opportunities are given for children to explore and figure things out. They are taught the foundations of mathematics, given a chance to exercise their curiosity through interactive science activities and learn through fun games, songs, and real life sample experiences and activities.
Social/Emotional
During the Kindergarten years students are provided with learning opportunities that develop their ability to communicate and collaborate with others effectively and at the same time learning to become more self-aware, responsible and independent. Kindergarteners have a chance to interact, share and play with other children of similar ages in a variety of activities.
Spiritual
Kindergarteners learn values in life and believe in God through learning of different Bible stories and participate in wholesome activities to foster character development, to help children to get to know God and trust Him always. Students sing worship songs with a good spirit and enjoyment and show respect in speaking of God and worshiping Him by reciting and memorizing Bible verses as well as praying respectfully.
Adventurer
The Adventurer program is like a scout-like program for K2 - K3 students. It is designed especially for kindergarten age children to learn more about their family, their environment, and God while strengthening the child-parent relationship.
It provides a meaningful experience as the children look forward with anticipation to someday being Pathfinders. Students are given the opportunity to learn various activities such as social skills, craft making, community service, and other activities in an interesting and fun way.
K2 - Little Lamb
K3 - Eager Beaver
Chapel
Chapel is an important part of the school program. It happens once a week in the auditorium, and is led out by our Kindergarten Chaplain. Students learn about being respectful to God and building good character. They also get a chance to think about their beliefs and grow spiritually. During Chapel, the whole Kindergarten School comes together in the auditorium. It's a special time that brings everyone closer and the Chaplain teaches students important life lessons about being good and kind.
