About Us

Ekamai International School’s Kindergarten Department opened with the view of offering a well rounded educational program where your child can learn and play in a warm and  nurturing Christian environment

Kindergarteners start their day with a flag-raising ceremony of their own, followed by a short exercise program. The formal classroom activity starts with morning worship where we sing songs and listen to character building stories.

A typical day in Kindergarten involves singing, dancing, fun projects, exploring the world through first-hand experience. Students read stories, do phonics, simple Math, act out rhymes, role play and many engaging activities.  Children are taught hygiene, healthy lifestyles and rules of conduct when interacting with each other. Children need to learn to interact with other kids, how to share, take turns or even comfort one another.

Everything in our daily routine has a time and place. There is time for washing hands, time for eating, time for learning, time for play, and time for a nap. This gives our students the security and comfort of knowing when and what to do at certain times of the day. At this age routines are very important, being the pattern the child can rely on and learn from.

Structured curriculum is part of the student’s life. This includes Values, English, Math, Social Sciences, Arts and Crafts, Music, Thai, Chinese and Computer. The K2 and K3 students are also active in character building programs such as “Little Lambs” and the “Eager Beavers” which are progressive classes of the Adventurers, a Christ-centered program similar to Boy/Girl Scouts. We also have Montessori class to help our Kindergarten students learn the discovery models approach to learning.  There are five learning areas in the Montessori classroom–practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language and social students together with science.
