School Counseling Program for Kindergarten Students

The early years are a time when children start to form their characters, mindset, and behaviors. They begin to develop their academic self-concept, and feeling of competence and confidence as learners. The school counselor for kindergarten students implements programs to support students through this important developmental period. The program teaches knowledge, attitudes, and skills students need to acquire in academic and social-emotional development. With the guidance of a school counseling program, students learn to develop effective collaboration and cooperation skills, to practice perseverance, to develop study skills, and to learn self-motivation and self-direction habits which will prepare them for a lifetime of happiness and success.

Services provided by the school counselor in kindergarten section may include:

1. Classroom Visitation: Unlike the upper grades, kindergarten classes are self-contained. The school counselor informally visits students in their classrooms and playground to get to know them personally.

2. Delivering of Guidance Lessons: The school counselor develops and teaches Guidance Lessons based on the developmental and skill set needs of the students in the level.

3. Class Observation: The school counselor makes classroom observation and individual student observation.  The information gathered is used for implementation of intervention plans.

4. Counseling: The school counselor spends time on individual and group counseling as a part of crisis intervention, prevention, and responsive services.

5. Consultation: The school counselor acts as a consultant for parents, teachers, staff, and administrators. The counselor seeks solutions to improve the educational, social, emotional experience for the students.

6. Coordination of Services: The school counselor coordinates community resources to provide a variety of services and opportunities to students and their families.

7. Teaming and Collaboration: The school counselor collaborates with all school team members to deliver strategies toward the goals.

Chaplain Department

At our Kindergarten School, we are fortunate to have a dedicated Campus Ministries Office with supportive and caring Chaplains. Our Kindergarten Chaplain serves as a wonderful spiritual mentor for our little ones, bringing a touch of spirituality and a holistic perspective into every aspect of our school life. From singing joyful songs to organizing special chapel programs, they create a nurturing and enriching environment for our young learners.

Inside the classroom, our Chaplain visits as special guests, captivating the children with exciting stories about important values. They also play an active role in preparing heartwarming chapels, fun worships, and engaging Bible studies, making sure our students have meaningful spiritual experiences.

Moreover, our Chaplains focus on teaching our little ones about God's love, kindness, and compassion. We celebrate Student Week of Prayer which is special time for our students.

The ultimate goal of our Chaplaincy Department is to provide a supportive spiritual framework that enhances every aspect of our kindergarten students' lives. With their warm smiles and caring hearts, our Chaplains create an environment where love, learning, and spiritual growth can thrive.

Library Department

Our Kindergarten students have a valuable and enriching  opportunity to expand their learning through weekly visits to the Library. During these visits, our young learners participate in engaging storytelling sessions conducted by our Librarian. Additionally, the students have the privilege of borrowing books from the Library to take home, fostering a love for reading and expanding their literary horizons.
