A Training Programme for Library Staff
Responsible use of AI in Library and Information Services
Senior Members, Chief and Principal Library Assistants
This training program will equip library staff with knowledge about the responsible and effective use of AI for accurate information retrieval. With the rise of AI, libraries can enhance their services. This training introduces staff to leading chatbots: Cohere, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot, exploring their benefits for efficient information retrieval.
Participants will learn querying techniques, evaluate information accuracy, and address ethical concerns like privacy and bias. Practical exercises build skills in using chatbots critically. By the end, staff will confidently navigate AI chatbots, ensuring accurate and ethical information services.
Key takeaways:
Understanding AI chatbots' potential and limitations
Skillful use of chatbots for information retrieval
