The Midwest Garrison is the Illinois chapter of The 501st Legion, a Star Wars Imperial costuming club. The 501st is dedicated to the movie-quality costumes of the "villains" of the Star Wars universe. MWG is also committed to the community and offers support at charity events, fundraisers, and social functions by appearing as film-authentic Star Wars characters.
Costumers with a Cause is a 501c3 non-profit organization that works with and supports children's charities and charity events that promote community growth, unity, and hope for every child's future. They believe that a world of difference can be made with a smile, photo or a single hello. Their goal is to utilize the talents of its members in order to make a child's day brighter.
Haelstorm Designs
Lisa is a veteran costume designer for theatre and film in Chicago. She entered the cosplay world in 2009. The first cosplay costumes she ever made were the Red and White Queen from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. She attends comic cons as a professional and has competed in and won several awards from cosplay competitions all across the country. In addition, she attends many movie events, library comic cons, charitable events, and parades in costume. She even has had opportunities to speak on panels about costuming.
The Rebel Legion is an international Star Wars costuming organization composed of members who create and wear costumes of the hero characters from the Star Wars universe. Members often give back to their communities by volunteering at charity events. Since the Legion’s inception it has been a volunteer club of costume enthusiasts who can enjoy, express, and share their interest of costuming with others in the fan community.
The Windy City Ghostbusters (WCGB) are a group of Chicago-based Ghostbuster enthusiasts who make and wear their own movie-accurate costumes. They march in parades and attend events in exchange for donations to local charity group. WCGB has partnered with La Rabida Children's Hospital and the Treehouse Animal Shelter, and 100% of donations WCGB collects go to these two organizations.
