Internship (MEd 2nd Semester, 2021)

Course Objectives

The program is designed to enable the prospective teacher educators to

• be acquainted with the content and organization of pre-service teacher education curriculum, infrastructure and resources needed, and the issues and problems related to teacher preparation

• Involve in various activities and processes of a teacher education institution, in order to gain an insight in to the multiple roles of a teacher educator and understand the organizational culture.

• acquire competencies and skills required for effective transaction of the curriculum and organization of component activities such as internship and working with the community

• design in-service teacher professional development program/activities based on the needs of teachers

• develop professional attitudes, values and interests needed to function as a teacher educator

Task : Pre-service Teacher Education (2 weeks)

1. Under the guidance of a mentor teacher educator, undertake planning and implementation of learning experiences on a unit from the prescribed course in the pre-service teacher education curriculum.

2. Plan assessment criteria/tools and evaluate the performance of student teachers on the unit transacted.

3. Based on the acquaintance with various activities, infrastructure and resources of the teacher education institution, prepare an institutional profile with reflections on the experiences gained

2. implementation of learning experiences on a group of student teachers

3. evaluation of learning outcomes

4. Report on institutional profile and reflections

with reference to the above objectives and activities specified, the Pre-service teacher education was started with a pre-conference on the 6th September 2021 at 10.00 am in the MEd Seminar room. The inauguration was graced by the Principal, Dean Instructions, Dean Research, Faculty Members, Coordinator.
