Other Canva Project Ideas and examples

"Green Screen" projects

Students can create quick green screen projects in Canva with a couple of pictures and a few quick clicks! Add a picture to your background, click "Edit Image" and then "Remove BG" (note that you can erase and restore the image as needed). Just like that, you have a fun greenscreen image to extend learning!

For this example, I added my son to Room on the Broom! From there, the student could write a different version of the story from their perspective to extend the story!

Graphic Organizers

Assign templates or let students choose their own to show what they know!

Venn Diagrams

This isn't Kansas anymore! Get away from the basic 2 circles on white paper, and allow students to create more complex Venn Diagrams and use colors to enhance understanding.

Character resume

Students create a resume for different characters in their novel.

Recreate a book cover

Challenge students to redesign a book cover for their novel *or* create a book cover for the topics you're studying that unit. Remind them that visually the cover must relate to the information!

Classroom banner challenge

Allow students to create a Google Classroom banner over the unit. Then, select one as your new Google Classroom banner for the remainder of that unit!

Brochure

Bring back the old brochure projects but leave the markers and glue at home! You can even print these and fold them to create a great looking final product!

comic strips

All the building blocks to make a visually success comic strip are in each template- even the character outlines and templates for their faces!

business proposals

Students created something awesome in their design cycle- now take it one step further with a business proposal for their new product/idea!

Make a meme

Quickly create memes over your topic with meme templates in Canva!

Fun things to add to your projects!

In your work space, click "more" at the bottom of the side panel to get to more features- like integrated Google Maps, QR codes, and GIFS!

From the three dots in the top right corner,  choose "present and record"

TEACHER HACK- edit a PDF with Canva!

Create a canva Class that syncs to your lms!

Once you have an educator account (note that this process may take a few days to process), you can set up your class work space in Canva. Why you'd want this?
