In addition to observing in a classroom, the state also requires that you reflect on the observations compared to the course objectives. In other words, reflecting on how the observations connect with what you are learning in the course. The anecdotal records are a required part of the labs/observations. Please review to Canvas course for Anecdotal Records Guided Notes and Anecdotal Records (critical reflections).
Anecdotal Records Guided Notes:
For completion grade take the list of questions with you each time you observe. You are responsible for answering all of the questions and submitting this document by the anecdotal record deadline. In some instances, you will have to discuss the question/topic with your cooperating teacher, especially if it is something you did not or are not able to observe in person. It would be great to read the questions first so that you will know what to look for. Questions should be answered fully and completely. Use specific examples wherever possible. Everything you write here will help you with your reflective responses. Note: You can answer these questions over multiple observation days.
Anecdotal Records (critical reflections) instructions:
Use the guided notes to reflect critically on your overall observation experience. Each prompt should be addressed in a response of approximately 200-400 words. All responses should include detailed, specific information and demonstrate thoughtful reflection. Specific examples from your classroom observations should be included as much as possible and must be present in every response to receive credit.
