Quizzes & Surveys

University Supported

• LMS - The University LMS can be used to create quizzes and polls.
• Microsoft Forms - Create various forms, including quizzes, polls and surveys and then share them to respondents via a link that can be made private to university members of public to anyone with the link. Available to staff as part of Office 365.
• Respondus - Design online tests, quizzes and surveys and upload them to one or more of your University LMS websites. Only available for Microsoft Windows (or Macs running Parallels). More information at University ICT Services.

FASS Supported

• Socrative - Live lecture polls and quizzes to keep students engaged, make large classes more interactive and quickly gauge student understanding. Students participate from their seat through an app on their mobile device. The FASS Learning team will support use of the free version. [Socrative overview] [Socrative tutorial]

Unsupported

• mQlicker - Free Audience Response System which has the goal of unlocking the potentials of interaction or dialogue with audiences such as students in a classroom or live lecture. Similar to Socrative above but, still untested by the FASS team.
• Google Forms - Part of the Google Docs suite, you can use it to easily create polls, quizzes or surveys. Data is collected live into a google spreadsheet. (free)
• SurveyMonkey (free)

NOTE: University Supported: supported by the University of Sydney helpdesk. FASS Supported: available to Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences staff. Unsupported: Used by academics but not supported by the university. More info on the About page.
