In 2018, I embarked on one of my first web design projects, a comprehensive revamp for Verdenergie, a project that still feels like a milestone in my early career. Their website, once fresh, had grown outdated and cluttered, becoming less user-friendly over time. Partnering with Silviu Coman, my colleague who managed the back-end development, we set out to breathe new life into the digital face of Verdenergie.
The design process began with the vision. I focused on creating a fresh aesthetic for the site, sketching out layouts, selecting interactive elements, and building a modern, cohesive user experience. Every design choice had a purpose, from the typography down to the colour palette, balancing a fresh look with a professional feel. As he structured the back-end, I began shaping the front-end visuals and mapping out key elements for seamless interaction, ensuring our work would be visually engaging and technically sound.
As the design took shape, I handled all content creation to ensure the site communicated clearly and persuasively. I crafted product descriptions, the homepage, an “About Us” section, and even blog posts, working to tell Verdenergie’s story in a voice that resonated with their customers. On top of that, I managed compliance, setting up the Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Cookies Policy, and ANPC guidelines, which became essential given the rise in digital privacy awareness.
Beyond the foundational design and content, I also directed the website’s marketing strategy, focusing on SEO and SEM to boost organic traffic and reach. I also integrated motion graphics for a dynamic, modern touch, making the website visually appealing and user-friendly.
Collaboration and Specialization: Having a team member dedicated to back-end development allowed me to focus on UX, design, and content, resulting in a cohesive, polished product.
Content as Key Driver: Clear, engaging content proved essential for creating an authentic user experience that connected with Verdenergie’s audience.
Comprehensive Strategy: By integrating SEO, interactive design, and strong visual elements, we created a website that wasn’t just functional but also a valuable asset for the client’s marketing.
Wallpaper Company Rebranding
Just as we were wrapping up the Verdenergie project, a new opportunity came in: a wallpaper company needed a website built from scratch, and I couldn’t wait to dive in. Within three days, I had the first design sketches ready, inspired by the brand's unique style.
Given how well we’d worked together, I teamed up again with Silviu Coman, who took charge of the back-end development. Together, we built a smooth, engaging user experience. I also worked closely with the client on their digital marketing strategy, identifying key metrics for success, and even refreshed their brand with a vibrant new colour palette for their logo.
My Own T-shirt Business
The InnerLight project began as one of my first independent ventures during the pandemic: a time when we were all searching for meaning amid uncertainty. My vision was simple yet ambitious: to create a brand that merges fashion with scientific knowledge, inspiring curiosity about the universe around us.
Starting from scratch, I designed the website, crafted the brand identity, and developed stories for each t-shirt design, all of which pay tribute to stars, planets, or constellations. My aim was to help customers feel as if they’re wearing a piece of the cosmos, with the added option to personalise their own designs. Each design was limited-edition, available only briefly, allowing the project to stay fresh and dynamic.
As InnerLight gained momentum, I collaborated with Saal Digital Germany, who kindly provided me with a voucher for a Professional Line Photobook. Their intuitive software made it simple to capture InnerLight’s journey in high-quality print, using an acrylic heavy-duty cover that enhanced the photobook’s professional feel.
Although balancing a full-time job and freelance projects has occasionally delayed my launches, I remained dedicated to keeping InnerLight alive. Recently, I’ve considered partnering with someone who shares a genuine passion for the universe. This partnership would allow me to focus on design, while my collaborator could delve into the stories and research that bring each piece to life.
In future, I hope to expand InnerLight by creating educational brochures to accompany each t-shirt and perhaps even hosting workshops for young learners eager to explore the wonders of the universe.
Architectural Website from Scratch
This is my initial website design brief. Hand drawn sketch.
Working with PDG Architectural, where I handled the full marketing strategy, social media content, and day-to-day office tasks for this fast-growing company, I learned to juggle multiple responsibilities in a small yet rapidly expanding team.
Though it was a demanding role, I enjoyed the dynamic atmosphere typical of smaller firms, where the environment felt authentic and adaptable compared to larger corporations. This project also marked a close collaboration with Liam Ward from One Stop I.T. Support Ltd. Together, we combined my skills in aesthetics, graphic design, content creation, and SEO with his coding expertise to build the company website.
I also designed a bespoke CRM system, which enabled staff to update project status, client information, and other relevant details. The CRM's next evolution was a downloadable PWA app for convenient access across devices.
To support on-site training and increase value for clients, I also proposed and designed a comprehensive management tool. This tool helped clients stay on top of training modules and provided an integrated experience with personalised calendars, blog articles, videos, books, and a community for knowledge sharing.
The journey at PDG Architectural was one of growth, collaboration, and creativity, a foundation I'm grateful to have built in my career.
Steel Supplier Website Update
In my role as a Marketing Specialist, I actively collaborated with distributors across various regions, providing marketing support and refreshing their websites to help them promote our products more effectively. This often involved suggesting content updates, new banners, and improved navigation to make the steel connection solutions more accessible.
For instance, after a recent site visit from Jane Hardy, BEng (Hons), we engaged with P.P to enhance their online presence. In close collaboration with their developer, Neil Kinnerly, I was thrilled to see the site transform, incorporating my initial mock-ups into a polished final product. Together, we implemented a sleek homepage banner, dedicated tile pages, and a structured product menu, each element designed to ensure our solutions stood out and were easy to find.
What was new?
Homepage Banner: A Gateway to Steel Connections
A revamped homepage now features a sleek banner directing visitors straight to the dedicated product page, offering quick access to the full range of steel connection solutions.
Tile Pages: Improved Navigation
I've introduced dedicated tile pages under their existing #Fasteners section. The first tile takes you to their general product page, while the second opens the door to the company's products.
Product Menu: Unveiling Our Expertise
A structured product menu now provides an overview of key solutions, accompanied by a brief company description and the benefits of these products, helping users quickly understand their value.
Dedicated Product Pages
Customised to the product range they supply, we also introduced additional menu boxes that link directly to specific steel connection categories.

It was a pleasure working on this project, and I look forward to many more!
