Edie is currently a Senior Lecturer (Banking and Finance) at the School of Economics, Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM). He teaches banking subjects.
Prior to his appointment at UUM, he was an executive at Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) and Malaysian Electronic Payment Systems Sdn Bhd (MEPS).
Edie received a doctorate degree from the University of St Andrews (2019) and an MBA from Bangor University (2014) both in the United Kingdom.
His research interest focuses on bank capital, banking competition, bank payout policy, and financial safety nets.
Edie work has been published in the Journal of Financial Stability with a paper about bank dividend policy and deposit insurance.
