MAKING ON-LINE OR VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENTAL SAFE AND CONDUCIVE
As a teacher, what have you discovered to be easy to implement in your virtual class?
In a virtual class, it is relatively simple to implement basic rules and procedures. For instance, students can easily follow rules such as muting their microphones when not speaking, being punctual to join the class, and paying attention during the teacher's discussion.
How did the students show their active participation in the lesson?
Students demonstrate active participation by responding to questions posed by the teacher. They engage by unmuting their microphones, requesting to share their thoughts, or using the “raise hand” feature in platforms like Zoom to indicate their desire to speak and contribute to the class discussion.

As a future teacher I feel that the online learning environment can be safe if...
The online learning environment can be safe if clear rules and netiquettes are established and consistently followed. It is crucial that students fully understand these guidelines, so they can easily comply and contribute to a secure and respectful virtual classroom.
I think that teaching in a virtual learning environment is...
Teaching in a virtual learning environment presents challenges, as it requires adjustments not only from students but also from teachers. This is particularly true for those who may not be well-versed in using technology. While this can be a hurdle, it is also a rewarding experience, offering new opportunities for growth and learning in an entirely different setting.
OBSERVE
Identify the problems brought about by the online learning environment.
In the virtual learning environment, there are several challenges that arise. One significant issue is the poor internet connection, which can hinder both students' and teachers' ability to engage in effective teaching and learning. Since we can't physically see our students in the online classroom, it’s difficult to know if they’re paying attention or not. Additionally, the temptation to open other websites can distract students during lessons. Background noise is also a common problem, as many students are learning from home, where their environment may not always be quiet. Dividing the class into smaller groups for collaborative work is another challenge. Some students also lack the necessary resources such as stable internet, smartphones, or laptops, and may have to rely on internet cafes to join classes.
REFLECT
How would you solve this problem?
I would begin by researching potential solutions to address these issues. While I haven't yet found a comprehensive solution, I am actively working on identifying ways to resolve these challenges. I understand that these problems are common, and I am committed to finding the best approaches to mitigate them.
PLAN
What initial plan do you intend to do to solve the problem?
To ensure that students are engaged and present in the class, I will regularly call on students by name to participate in discussions and encourage them to turn on their cameras and microphones to interact. Other challenges, such as resource limitations, require consideration and compassion for now, but I believe that transitioning to face-to-face learning may help alleviate some of these issues in the future.
