Effective Date: June 24, 2026
Last Updated: June 24, 2026
Thank you for using Calorie Tracker: AI Scan (“App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application.
You can use many features of the App without creating an account. Depending on how you use the App, you may provide or generate:
Profile and goal information (e.g., age, gender, height, weight, activity level, calorie goals)
Food and nutrition logs (meals, calories, macronutrients, fasting records)
Meal photos (when you use AI meal scan or camera features)
Barcode scan data (product barcodes used to look up nutrition information)
Account information (e.g., name or email, if you choose to sign in with Apple or contact us)
We do not require personal information to use the core features of the App.
We may collect limited device and usage information, such as:
Device type, operating system, and app version
General usage data (e.g., feature usage, session counts)
Diagnostic and crash information (if available through your device or platform)
This information is used to operate, maintain, and improve the App.
The App uses third-party services that may process information on our behalf, including:
Service
Purpose

In-app purchases and subscriptions
Apple App Store
In-app purchases and subscriptions (iOS)
RevenueCat
Subscription and purchase management
Clarifai
AI-powered food recognition from meal photos
USDA FoodData Central
Nutrition database lookups

These providers collect and process information according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review their policies for details on their data practices and retention.
We use collected information to:
Operate and maintain the App
Provide calorie tracking, food logging, barcode scanning, and AI meal analysis
Calculate nutrition goals and display progress
Process and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases
Improve App performance, features, and user experience
Respond to support requests and communications
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not operate our own user database or cloud servers to store your personal nutrition data.
Most App data — including your food logs, calorie goals, onboarding answers, fasting history, and profile preferences — is stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage.
When you use certain features:
Meal photos are transmitted to Clarifai for AI food recognition and are processed according to Clarifai’s policies.
Food and barcode search queries are sent to USDA and Open Food Facts to retrieve nutrition information. These requests do not include your name, email, or account identifiers.
Purchase and subscription data is handled by Google Play, the Apple App Store, and RevenueCat.
This section describes how long we retain information and the criteria we use to determine retention periods.
Information stored locally on your device (including food logs, calorie goals, profile settings, onboarding responses, and fasting records) is retained until you delete it or remove the App, whichever comes first.
You can delete locally stored data at any time by:
Using the Delete Account or data-clearing options in the App (if available in Settings/Profile)
Uninstalling the App from your device, which removes locally stored App data
We do not retain copies of this locally stored data on our servers after you delete it from your device.
We do not store or retain your personal nutrition logs, meal photos, or profile data on our own servers. Once processing for a specific feature is complete (such as AI meal analysis), we do not maintain a server-side copy of that data.
Third-party services involved in App functionality may retain information for their own operational, security, and legal purposes:
Google Play / Apple App Store: Transaction and purchase records are retained as required for billing, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. See Google Play’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement data is retained as needed to manage your subscription status. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Clarifai: Meal images submitted for AI analysis are processed and may be retained according to Clarifai’s data retention practices. See Clarifai’s Privacy Policy.
USDA / Open Food Facts: Public nutrition database queries may be logged by those services under their respective policies.
We do not control how long third parties retain data. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies for specific retention periods.
If you contact us by email, we retain your correspondence only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and resolve your request, typically no longer than 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law.
We may retain information longer if required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable government requests.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information only:
With service providers that help us operate the App (e.g., subscription management, AI food recognition, nutrition databases), subject to their privacy obligations
To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
To protect our rights, safety, and property, and that of our users
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed through the App. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s operating system security features (e.g., device passcode, biometrics).
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information.
You can:
Delete local App data using in-app account/data deletion features or by uninstalling the App
Opt out of optional sign-in by not using Apple Sign In or similar features
Manage subscriptions through Google Play or the Apple App Store
Limit camera access through your device settings (note: this will disable photo and barcode scanning features)
Contact us to request deletion of any information you have sent us directly (e.g., support emails)
If you use the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate, including the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of information to those locations.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, contact us at:

This Privacy Policy applies only to Calorie Tracker: AI Scan and does not cover third-party websites, services, or applications you may access through the App.
Publish this updated policy at your existing URL:
https://sites.google.com/view/ebmgroup/trackmycalories-privacy-policy
Update the “Last Updated” date on the live page.
In Play Console → App content → Privacy policy, confirm the URL is correct.
Resubmit the app for review.
The critical fix is Section 4 (Data Retention) — Google specifically requires disclosure of retention periods, deletion methods, and whether you store data on servers (you do not for nutrition/profile data).
If you want, I can also save this as a file in your TrackMyCalories project or draft the Google Sites page content formatted for copy-paste.
