Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar observed that the biggest challenge that the present engineering education system faces today is the lack of quality faculty. So he believed that (R & D) must be given immediate attention in order to nurture the concept of technology development, its incubation in institution and industry and transfer of this to the community and society.
As Regional Director (Academic Research), Anna University, Chennai, Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar controlled the academic research activities of Zone-6 for the benefit of the faculty belonging to Government and un- aided institutions.
He monitored Ph.D. and M.S. (By Research) programmes in the selection of the candidates, admissions, formation of Doctoral Committees and revision of research regulations of the University from time to time to encourage quality research among the academia and to meet industry needs.
