- To provide the students with wider prospective and enable them to enhance their knowledge, Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar encourage the EEEIEA association and conducted national level technical symposium ORACLE every year. Students got to know the nuts and bolts of electrical fields by the regular seminar called ELECTRA which was conducted annually. Periodic GD's, Aptitudes, Technical Seminars and Quizzes augmented their knowledge as well as their personality.
- During his tenure as a Professor in the department of Electrical Engineering, Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, he conducted TWO National Level Conferences (National Conference on Electrical and Instrumentation Systems – NCEIS-‘02&’05). In these conferences, large number of researchers presented their technical papers and participants spread throughout India.
- ORACLE is an annual national level technical symposium hosted by the department in association with the Departments of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. It gives a platform for engineers all over India to present their young and thought provoking ideas in the field of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation. The fiesta not only brings out the fresh ideas of engineers, but also helps young engineers to explore their debugging skills through Code Debugging and Circuit Debugging events.

Placement Officer in GCT, Coimbatore
- Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar’s nomination to the Syndicate of Anna University came when employment opportunities for IT engineers was showing a downward trend instead of registering any growth. Realizing the need for effective and proactive measures that needed to be taken, Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar took up the challenging task of making students employable.
- Due to the immediate steps taken as Syndicate Member, Anna University, the placement drive offered tangible result and ensured that the hundreds of employable students were made ready for industries and of value to them from day one.
- Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar, in addition to being the Professor and Head, Department of Electrical Engineering also acted as a Placement Officer in Government College of Technology, Coimbatore during 2003-2005 (till his transfer) as Principal, Government College of Engineering, Salem.
- In June, 2005, B.E.(Electrical & Electronics Engineering) at Government College of Technology, Coimbatore recorded the first ever batch to secure 100% placement within two weeks of the placement drive, beating the other branches such as CSE, ECE and IT. Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar was the Prof. & Head for the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) branch.
- Since then, there has been no looking back in GCT Placements with each student passing out with job offers from at least TWO reputed companies in the recent past with overall placement statistics of cent percent.
Anna University State Level Placement Programme
- During December-2001, Anna University, Chennai transformed into a unitary type into affiliating type and took over all Engineering and Technology institutions (Government, Government Aided and Self Financing) spread over across in the state of Tamil Nadu.
- A large number of new UG & PG programmes were introduced and the standards of examinations and evaluation went up. This resulted in the immediate upward effect in the placement statistics.
- It is Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar’s dream that every student should have 8 Cs - Competence, Confidence, Courage, Creativity, Conviction, Commitment, Clarity and Character. This strong belief has only been strengthened during the slight downslide in 2001 and 2002 when IT job opportunities for young graduates were becoming scarcer because companies had invested heavily in solving the Y2K problem; moreover, the situation that followed the 9/11 terrorists attack in the United States was unfavorable. At this critical juncture, Anna University’s new administration took over in May, 2002 and started taking initiatives to improve the basic infrastructure in the private engineering colleges "as per University norms".
- Anna University introduced placement services under the State Level Placement Programme (SLPP) for all of its affiliated colleges in order to enable the recruitment of students from rural areas.
- All measures were taken to ensure that Tamil Nadu stood first in the number of placements and those multinational companies which came here in search of technically strong and communicative engineers filled up all their recruitment needs here before looking else where. Around 1,200 students were recruited by reputed firms during the SLPP drive in 2004-05 apart from direct Campus placements.
- In the Coimbatore Placement Zone, Prof.Dr.A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar, led SLPP which spread from the outskirts of Chennai into Northern, Western frontiers of Tamil Nadu. He cultivated healthy competition among the students of Coimbatore, Salem and Vellore academic zones and created a complete placement sweep by this region which still continues in engineering colleges.
- Due to the foresight of Prof. Dr. A. Ebenezer Jeyakumar in making students industry-prepared in this zone, today 85% of the students passing out from engineering colleges are getting jobs. This was the concept which forced Anna University to act 5 years ago; today, everyone has realized the results of those initiatives.
