Mandated Reporter Training
9B) knows laws and rules (e.g., mandatory reporting, sexual misconduct, corporal punishment) as a foundation for the fair and just treatment of all students and their families in the classroom and
school
Mandated reporter trainings connect to standard 9B by knowing the laws and safety for all students. This allows teachers to provide the best treatment and help for any student who needs it. I have learned to care for students under these circumstances if needed properly.
Professional Development
9O) participates in professional development, professional organizations, and learning communities, and engages in peer coaching and mentoring activities to enhance personal growth and development;
Professional development connects to standard 9O by proactively researching the ever-changing education topic. Educational Trauma was something I knew nothing about until watching the podcast by Dr. Lee-Anne Gray. I am better informed about Educational Trauma and can identify it within my students. I am also ready to help students who may experience Educational Trauma due to this professional development gain in my teaching toolbox.
