Week 7

This week in my Food Processing classes, I concentrated on delivering comprehensive educational materials and assessing student progress effectively. I sent out modules to my Grade 10 and Grade 11 students, focusing on packaging for Grade 10 and lactic acid fermentation for Grade 11. To evaluate their understanding, I administered quizzes to both grades, which included questions designed to test their grasp of the week's topics.

Throughout the week, I made myself available to address any queries from the learners. Engaging with students' questions and providing clarifications was essential for ensuring they fully understood the material. This interaction not only helped clear up any confusion but also reinforced their learning and boosted their confidence.

In preparation for the classes, I meticulously prepared the Daily Lesson Logs (DLL) for both Food Processing 10 and 11. These logs outlined the learning objectives, instructional methods, and assessment strategies for each lesson, ensuring that the teaching was well-organized and effective. Additionally, I checked the attendance of my Food Processing students regularly, which is crucial for monitoring their participation and identifying any issues early on.

This week also saw the beginning of my work on a PowerPoint presentation for my final demonstration. The presentation aims to be a comprehensive and engaging tool to support my teaching, incorporating visual aids and key points to facilitate better understanding. Alongside this, I started encoding the scores of the Food Processing quizzes and tasks. Recording and analyzing these scores are vital for tracking student performance and providing targeted feedback to help them improve.

Overall, Week 7 was marked by diligent preparation and active student engagement. Sending out modules, preparing lesson logs, checking attendance, and starting work on the final demo presentation ensured a productive and organized week. These efforts are crucial for maintaining a high standard of teaching and supporting student learning effectively.
