The object behaviour defines the material to use in the different scenarios of the project.
The management of the existing behaviours in the model is carried out by means of the selection of the Behaviour menu in the Model menu as shown by the dialog box List of Behaviours, showing the list of behaviours existing in the model.
The dialog box allows creating a new behaviour (New button), modifying an existing behaviours (Edit button) or deleting an existing behaviour (Delete button).
The identifier of the behaviour (positive integer different than zero) and the type of behaviour (Rod, Fluid, Plastic, Shell or Porous media) are mandatory fields when defining a new behaviour. For each type of behaviours the properties of it should be defined.
The Rod type behaviour is defined by
Rod Mat. Id. Identifier of the material that defines the elastic properties of the rod. The material used for this type of behaviour should be Mechanical.
Area Transversal section of the rod.
Z Axis momentum Inertial momentum of the rod respect the Z axis.
Y Axis momentum Inertial momentum of the rod respect the Y axis.
ZY Axis momentum Inertial product of the rod respect the Z and Y axis.
X Axis momentum Inertial momentum of the rod respect the X axis.
Non structural mass Non structural mass of the rod.
Z Shear stress area factor Area factor for the shear stress respect the Z axis.
The Shell type behaviour allows defining the properties of a material that can be assumed a shell with a thin thickness. The properties to define for this behaviour are
Shell Mat. Id Identifier of the shell type material to use in the model. The defined material should be of Mechanical type.
Bending Mat. Id Identifier of the bending type material to use in the model. The defined material should be of Mechanical type.
Shear Stress Mat. Id Identifier of the shear type material to use in the model. The defined material should be of Mechanical type.
Connected Mat. Id Not used
Thickness Thickness of the shell
Inertial Moment Axial inertial momento of the shell.
Ratio Not used
Non structural mass Non-structural mass of the shell.
The behaviour of the fluid type material that can be used in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) problems. The properties to define for this behaviour are
Fluid Mat. Id. Identifier of the material that defines the properties of the sustance as fluid. The material used should of type Fluidic.
The Plastic Behaviour allows defining the materials to use when performing a plastic simulation (non-linear)..
The properties to define for this type of behaviour are the following:
Elastic Mat. Id Identifier of the material that is going to be used for the linear behaviour of the material. The defined material should of Mechanical type.
Plastic Mat. Id Identifier of the material that is going to be used for the non-linear behaviour of the material. The defined material should be of Plastic type.
The use of the elastic material or the plastic material will dependo n the work zone of the behaviour. For work zones with a stress below the elastic limit, the behaviour will behave linearly. In the other hand, when the stress is above the elastic limit, the behaviour will behave non-linearly (plastic).
