Social-emotional learning (SEL) in early education is crucial for fostering the holistic development of young children. It involves teaching them to recognize and manage their emotions, build self-esteem, maintain resilience through difficult times, make responsible decisions, establish and maintain positive relationships.Â
By integrating SEL into early education, children learn essential skills such as self-awareness, self-regulation, and social interaction. These skills not only contribute to their emotional well-being but also enhance their academic performance and ability to navigate social complexities. A strong foundation in social-emotional learning equips children with the resilience and interpersonal skills needed for future success in school and life.
The social emotional development of children is one of the top priorities at DuoDuo Academy. At DuoDuo Academy, we intentionally incorporate social-emotional learning in our day to day curriculum through books, activities, stories, pretend play, etc. This is also supported by our once a week SEL class that is designed specifically for our children based on their developmental needs and personalities.
