Chinese English Bilingual Program

Introduction

DuoDuo Academy is a Reggio Emilia-inspired home-based childcare, preschool, and afterschool program for children aged 3 months to 12 years old, featuring a Chinese and English bilingual program.

The name “DuoDuo” originates from Chinese, meaning "blossom," given to me as my nickname by my parents in the hope that I would flourish and thrive in life.

At DuoDuo Academy, “DuoDuo” symbolizes growth, development, and the flourishing of potential. We are deeply committed to creating a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to grow, learn, and thrive. Just as a flower blossoms under the right conditions, children at DuoDuo Academy are provided with the care, support, and educational opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Mission

Our mission is to provide the best possible home care and education that promotes the overall well-being and success of each child. We are dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, open-ended, and child-centered environment that fosters creativity, resilience, and self-efficacy, allowing the children to be their whole self.

All our children at DuoDuo Academy are:

Philosophy

Focus on the Whole Child: We emphasize self-efficacy, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Child-Centered Learning: Our approach includes learning through play, an emergent curriculum, and open-ended exploration.
Teacher as a Guide and Co-Learner: Our teachers facilitate rather than lead, allowing children to take the initiative and respecting their interests.
Social-Emotional as the Foundation: Social emotional development is sets the foundation for future success for each child at school and life. Our positive philosophy and practices are applied throughout all curriculum activities and communication, including a weekly social-emotional class.

We believe that every child is unique and deserves an environment that fosters their individual growth. Children learn best in a nurturing, child-initiated, play-based setting that promotes self-confidence, trust, creativity, autonomy, and acceptance of individual differences.
At DuoDuo Academy, we strive to build a child-centered environment, focusing on the holistic development of each child through free and creative play, exploration, and guided learning. In our dynamic home care environment, children develop self-care and problem-solving skills while engaging in exciting explorations and hands-on experiences.
