Out of the Box: Self Care Program of the Year

The Out of the Box: Self Care award recognizes a program/initiative that focuses on a niche experience or theme with the goal of highlighting the importance of self-wellness. Themes in this category could include the creative execution of initiatives highlighting the arts, wellness, health, resilience, and more. These programs add a unique experience to the residential community. This initiative focuses on providing a space for students to de-stress or release of energy, focus on the self and reflection, takes students out of the “every day hustle,” and students feel positively impacted after this initiative takes place.

"Self-Care Sundays"

"The RAs provided essential oils, relaxing music, face masks, coloring books and fidget games for all of the house. Residents came to the event to discuss different destressing techniques and learn about foods that help destress. Residents ate dark chocolate and drank tea and escaped the Duke stress for an evening." -nominator
