Civic Engagement Program of the Year

This award recognizes a program that successfully engaged residents in the civic or political life of the broader community, allowing them to contribute at the local, state, national, or global levels. This can look like facilitating a service event, organizing an awareness campaign for a social issue, providing opportunities to engage in the political process, or something else of this nature.

Winner:

"National Day of Service with Duke Outdoor Adventures"

by Krystal Hu (N5)

"The RA saw that Duke Outdoor Adventures had a National Public Lands Day and National Day of Service event in which attendees would participate in trail building at Falls Lake. Not only did the RA and their residents bond over a service event, but it also exposed residents to student organizations and opportunities such as Outdoor Adventures and service related events on campus." -nominator
