The Diskwento Caravan Project has been a regular undertaking of the Department since 2008 when it was launched as a non-wage benefit for wage earners and employees. Since then, the Caravan has evolved to cater to the needs of all consumers through the conduct of the Food Caravan, Balik Eskwela and Holiday Caravan editions to ease the burden of rising prices of prime commodities; basic commodities affecting the consumers’ purchasing power.
Series of Diskwento Caravan and Rolling Stores are being conducted nationwide, some of which are done jointly with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and local government units in cooperation with MSME suppliers, to ensure the supply of basic necessities priced in accordance with or lower than the suggested retail prices. These also provide markets for our MSME manufacturers of basic necessities to sell their products as well as assisting our consumers by providing them products at discounted prices.

LOOK | DTI Camarines Sur conducted the DISKWENTO CARAVAN and Consumer Protection Division (CPD) Services in partnership with LGU Magarao last July 22-24, 2024 at Municipal Plaza, San Isidro, Magarao, Camarines Sur.
This activity aimed to give the general people with easier access to basic necessities and prime commodities, as well as other goods, at DISCOUNTED prices.
The caravan was participated by the following partner establishments:
