I am from the southeast of England in a place called Dumpton, near Dover and Canturbury. My parents came from Sheffield and Manchester. I was a PE teaching in Maidstone, Kent, before coming to Canada.  I have lived in Canada since 1991. Getting my masters and Phd at the University of Alberta.  Locating in Victoria in 1998 and getting married here in 2002.  

I grew up playing many sports, but specialized on tennis, playing tournaments and representing both English and Canadian Univerisities, winning national championships in both countries.  

The courses I teach at the university have taught me so much as I am able to try to apply theory to practice, share ideas with smart and motovated students, and continously enjoy learning from others.

I have nine grandchildren.
