I have been teaching sociology and social science courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2014 at the Universities of Bamberg, Mannheim, Hamburg, and Duisburg-Essen. My teaching experience includes courses for students in Sociology, Socioeconomics, and teacher education in Economics, Politics, and Social Sciences.
My courses cover topics such as social inequality, educational inequality, migration and integration, family and intergenerational relationships, as well as empirically oriented seminars in which students develop and investigate their own research questions. Drawing on my quantitative research background, I particularly aim to connect sociological theories and substantive questions with empirical evidence and research methods.
In my teaching, I value clearly defined learning objectives, transparent communication, constructive feedback, and an inclusive and supportive learning environment. I use interactive and digital teaching formats and increasingly integrate AI-supported tools where they can meaningfully facilitate literature research, critical reflection, and independent academic work.
In addition to teaching courses, I have extensive experience in supervising and examining Bachelor's and Master's theses and have supervised more than 40 theses as a primary supervisor.
