Growth Mindset

Dr. Dweck coined the terms fixed mindset and growth mindset to describe the underlying beliefs people have about learning and intelligence.

When students believe they can be smarter, they make the conscious choice to put the effort into the task at hand and that makes them stronger. The extra time and effort that leads to higher achievement.

I thought that if I ever returned to the classroom to teach English again that these quotes would a wondeful way to begin class. I would use them as a writing prompt and ask my students to explain what the quote means to them and then how it could be applied to life
