The gold cutoff grade is based on several parameters, including gold price, process recovery, and operating costs. Part 1 of this app allows the user to input gold price and cost information to calculate the breakeven cutoff grade. Change the gold price (or any of the operating costs) and see the resulting impact on the cutoff grade. You can save your inputs for future reference.
The App calculates both open and underground Au cutoff grades. Note that the underground cutoff includes the UG mining cost, but the open pit cutoff does not include the mining cost since it is based on mining inside an optimized pit shell where all material must be mined.
The AISC (All-In Sustaining Cost) per oz is based on both operating costs and the head grade. When you see a mine's AISC changing over time, it could be due to the costs changing or the head grade changing or a bit of both. This app shows the relationship between head grade and AISC for the operating costs input in Part 2. Note that sustaining cost is not included in this ASIC demo.
