The discounted Cashflow Modler App allows the user to run their own simplified cashflow model for an early stage mining project. Based on user input, the DCF app will build a cashflow model and calculate key economic metrics.
The App provides the logic for the model, however the user required to input ore tonnes, grades, and costs (CapEx and OpEx). Make changes to any of the input parameters, and the results are reflected immediately. User can save their models to their local drive. Users can download a CSV template and then upload the file with input data.
A project can include up to five different metals and can examine open pit, underground or combined OP + UG scenarios. The model presents a summary screen with input fields and also the time based cashflow details.
This Cashflow Modeller App is a simplified version of a DCF and is for entertainment purposes only. Mining studies apply much more complex DCF models. This simplification was done in an attempt to reduce the number of User inputs required. Hence some of the limitations of this model are:
This DCF app can simulate a combined open pit and underground operation, but the UG mine will be added to the end of OP production. Simultaneous OP & UG mining is not available.
The OP strip ratio is applied equally each year. Early year higher stripping ratios are not available.
The production grade profile is a flat line average grade per year. A trending grade profile may be added as an option in the future.
This DCF app cannot use multiple ore types with different recoveries, payables (e.g. a heap leach + concentrator cannot be modelled).
The DCF app does not incorporate concentrate smelter terms. These additional costs & deductions are addressed by applying a Payable% factor to each metal.
The DCF economics are shown on an After-Tax basis. The tax calculation is simple to allow for some cash deduction for taxes. To see pre-tax results, set the Tax Rate to 0%.
If you have a very long life mine, to view the entire cashflow model reduce the zoom level on your browser.
The left sidebar on the summary screen is for the data input fields. There will be an optional download csv template which willl allow offline collection of input data and then uploading that file.
