The Johns Hopkins Raman Users Center serves scientists both within and outside the JHU community. We use Raman scattering spectroscopy for characterization of materials. Please find the information about the equipment here.
We can do micro- and macro Raman measurements on various solid samples and selected liquid samples at temperatures between 400 and 4 K. If you are interested in characterizing your samples at our lab please contact Natalia Drichko to discuss the measurements.
The Raman Lab is in room 140 Bloomberg
For all the measurements done within the Users Center, a price of $65.98 per hour starting June 2025 is charged. This price covers the usage of the equipment and the related maintenance. Users have to provide a budget number at the time of the measurements.
For the first measurements we cannot exactly predict the measurement time. During the first measurement we will find parameters which will allow us to achieve the best results for your samples. After that we can estimate time necessary to complete the project.
