Undergraduate research and outreach

There are various opportunities for undergraduate research in Drichko lab. Typically, undergraduate researchers work for credits during the semester. During summer month there are some limited summer RA support. There are also opportunities for JHU-supported undergraduate research, such as PURA fellowship. The initial research experience in our lab can be a good starting point to look for a summer interneships outside of JHU.

Here we would like to feature selected completed projects and impressions of undergraduate researchers

Chris Anto is a receiver of  PURA undergraduate research award, which supported his research on Raman scattering of thin films of TbInO3. Here is a video where Chris is talking about his undergraduate research experience.

Sami Muhammad is a physics major who has undertaken a number of projects at our lab starting his first weeks at JHU.  His first project was building of a Raman scattering setup with LabView controlled measurements, presented at 2024 May SPS sudent meeting. In summer 2024 Sami has received the DAAD RISE Scholarship and is planning to spend his summer at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz in the Kläui lab
