Counselling Psychologist | Islamic-Integrative Mental Health Specialist | Educator | Innovator
I am a Registered Counsellor (Board of Counsellors Malaysia) and a Counselling Psychology Officer serving under the Ministry of Health Malaysia. My professional work centres on advancing Islamic-integrative mental-health practice, with a specific focus on developing, evaluating, and translating evidence-based counselling interventions into real-world clinical and community settings.
I am the originator of the TR-TAN Counselling Framework an integrative model that combines Reality Therapy and Tazkiyah al-Nafs developed and empirically examined through doctoral research. This framework addresses self-compassion (ihsan kendiri), emotional resilience and psychospiritual well-being, particularly among adolescents and community populations experiencing mental-health challenges.
My work bridges psychological science, Islamic spirituality, and public mental-health delivery. It spans clinical counselling practice, academic research, psychoeducational innovation, and national-level community engagement. I actively contribute to scholarly publications, innovation initiatives, postgraduate mentorship and public mental-health advocacy.
I also serve as the Founder and Director of Dar e-Hikmah, a digital psychoeducational platform that expands access to reflective, faith-aligned mental-health learning. The platform supports Ministry of Health health-promotion initiatives and aligns with national mental-health strategies and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
