Hon'ble High Court is the topmost Court in a State, speaking both administratively and judicially. The Hon'ble High Courts possesses a very distinguished power & responsibility under article 226/227 of the Constitution of India. This power to issue writs is even more expansive in its ambit than the power of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India to issue writs.

एक माननीय उच्च न्यायालय एक प्रदेश में सर्वोच्च न्यायालय है, जो प्रशासनिक और न्यायिक दोनों तरह से बोलता है। माननीय उच्च न्यायालयों के पास भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 226/227 के तहत एक बहुत ही विशिष्ट शक्ति और जिम्मेदारी है। रिट जारी करने की यह शक्ति भारत के माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालय की रिट जारी करने की शक्ति की तुलना में अपने दायरे में और भी अधिक विस्तृत है।

Every High Court has the power to issue directions, orders or writs against any person, corporation, authority or Government for enforcement of any fundamental/legal right of any individual, regardless of the fact that the residence/seat of such person, corporation, authority or Government is outside the territories pertaining to which such High Court exercises jurisdiction, provided that the cause of action arose in such territories.

प्रत्येक उच्च न्यायालय के पास किसी भी व्यक्ति, निगम, प्राधिकरण या सरकार के खिलाफ किसी भी व्यक्ति के मौलिक/कानूनी अधिकार के प्रवर्तन के लिए निर्देश, आदेश या रिट जारी करने की शक्ति है, इस तथ्य की परवाह किए बिना कि ऐसे व्यक्ति, निगम, प्राधिकरण का निवास/स्थान या सरकार उन क्षेत्रों से बाहर है जिनके संबंध में उच्च न्यायालय अधिकारिता का प्रयोग करता है, बशर्ते कि ऐसे क्षेत्रों में कार्रवाई का कारण उत्पन्न हुआ हो।
