Starting at the Trexler Environmental Center (note if you need a bathroom there are facilities at the building) as you leave the parking lot and walk towards the building make your first left (red marked trail)
Turn right on the first trail to your right, follow it down the semi steep hill to the road. You can either turn left and walk along the road until you get to the Jordan Creek or walk immediately across the road on the trail. Both will take you to the same spot.
When you get to the Jordan and the road crossing turn left and walk along the path to the next road (covered bridge)
Walk through the covered bridge and make the first right. Follow this back to the Jordan river crossing, you will see a footbridge next to the river crossing.
Cross the footbridge and make the first left up the hill (semi steep)
At the top of the hill is the back end of the Elk pens...they are usually at the bottom left of the pen..dont worry you will pass the pen again and see them better at the bottom.
Keep following the trail to the paved road, turn right, follow this down past the bison pens and eventually the Elk pens (will be on your right)
Once you pass the Elk pens take the first trail to your left...this will be the first semi steep hill you walked down on this trail...follow this to the top T and turn left and you will be back at the environmental center
