The last Year of the Hare was 2023-24 which had the element Water to accompany it.
You may wish to include the Calligraphy for Hare (tù) in your painting which can be found on our Zodiac Animals pages. However, I thought it worth showing the Traditional vs Simplified Calligraphy here so that you can appreciate the difference. See below for the traditional version on the left and the simplified version on the right:
For information on Hare personality traits, take a look at the Chinese Zodiac Rabbit page on the Travel China site.
Chinese Calligraphy – Hare (tù) traditional & simplified
Back in 2020, we enjoyed a great day painting Spring Hares in the University of Leicester Botanic Gardens with the LCBP Group. See below for some of our excellent student paintings…
Hare by Reg Robinson March 2020
Tiger Hare by Sue Smith March 2020
Spring Hare study by Paul Maslowski March 2020
Thanks to Reg and Sue for adding their hares above. If you attended the workshop and wished to have your hare included here, please do get in touch.
It seems only right to add my finished demonstration piece below so you can complete your hare study, if you have not already. I have added a few extra layers to complete the painting on the left.
Should you wish to add the Chinese Calligraphy for Spring to your painting please take a look at our Seasons page.
