Hatch-a-Dot

Probably the most discussed Peridot topic on SocMed channels, on this page you'll find all you need to know (hopefully!).

The Hatch-a-Dot process has been greatly simplified and no longer requires the integration with Campfire (Yay!!!), although you can always still use Campfire to communicate with other Keepers to align active Dots for Hatching.

Hatch-a-Dot is the process by which you initiate the creation of a new baby Dot.  You do this by interacting with another Keeper and thus, your Dot interacting with theirs.

You will need a Nest to Hatch-a-Dot, that is currently non-negotiable, they can be bought from the Store, gained from 30th day login Bonus, or Special Quests (these may occur as random weekly Quests, or during special Events).  You will also need a supply of Sundrops or Peridough, the quantity of which is determined by a number of factors which can be found here.

You can initiate Hatch-a-Dot with either a Dot located at a Habitat (you will need to walk to the Habitat), a Visitor Dot, or one of your in-game friends' Dots, just tap the picture of the Dot in question and you will then see both Dots, side by side, the cost of hatching, and below that, a list of the Traits owned by each Dot.

So, you've found a Dot that you want to Hatch-a-Dot with?  What next?  Tap the 'Hatch-a-Dot' button underneath the picture of the Dot,

You can choose to use Sundrops only (in which case if there are any locked Traits on the Dot, you will not get them) or you can choose the option to use Peridough to unlock any Traits that the other Dot has that you may want to have a chance to have on the new baby Dot.

BE AWARE - THIS IS EFFECTIVELY THE POINT OF NO RETURN AS FAR AS YOUR PRECIOUS NEST GOES.  BY CONTINUING, YOUR NEST HAS BEEN EXPENDED!

Once you are sure that you want to continue just select the Sundrop or Peridough option to progress to the 3 Eggs screen from where you can select an egg to hatch.  You can refuse to raise the resulting baby Dot, but you will then need to spend more Sundrops to try again (ad infinitum), as mentioned before, there is no way to back out of the deal and get your Nest back at this point, like it or not (and we don’t) the Nest has gone at this point so be very careful when selecting a Dot to Hatch with!!!!!

A couple of things to remember - it only uses your Nest and your Sundrops/Peridough if you are the one requesting to Hatch-a-Dot.  There is no cost or reward (currently) for the other Keeper.
