Is the group set in current time? Do the characters age up in real time?

Characters age up with real time. So if you start out at the age of 2, and 1 year passes in our real time, the character becomes 3. 

Where is Canidale set?

It is located in a imaginary town somewhere in the US.

Can characters have dyed fur?

Yes. Characters can have dyed fur/hair. However, it must make sense. A Stray or Junkyard dog will not have any access to it, so mainly pets will have the possibilty of being dyed.
