History of Canidale

City Story

Like most cities, Canidale started with a few settlers. Before growing in numbers, it used to be a village of few people who were simple farmers. Their dogs watched over the cattle and sheep while others began to stray away from the people. However, the dogs settled and grew roots in this area. With much space to grow, more people moved to this village, creating a town, then a city. It was an industrialised port city in the end. People from different places began to settle, in the end creating a well rounded place. It was the farmers that came from humble past, who helped the city grow. Making the farmstead dogs known as the working force of the city. While pets were quickly to grow as the upper class. Living in the suburbs. Some may have looked down on the easy life, forgetting, some of them were working too. Not all dogs liked the company of the people. Becoming  strays, or choosing to be. 

The beginning was light, little to no issues amongst the factions. Though that did not last. Some began stealing after food, winter was being harsh, and summers were burning. This created a discord between the different dogs. Farmland became distant towards anyone who entered, and pets refused to communicate with those who might need help. This caused many power struggles, factional distrust and even some may say hatred.

This continued for months. That was until a certain dog, who decided to take a lead, ran for Chief. He was a new resident, with fresh ideas who wanted to save the beloved town. He, who was once a stray, saw how snobbish the pets had become, encouraging them to become guardians. Trying to to help conceal the issues, he managed to work for a kinder community. One where factions helped protect the ones who need it.

After all, they all wanted to thrive. They were all dogs of Canidale.

Though, did their hostility truly cease?
