Mentorships return this 2024 after their introduction in 2021. The expectations for the mentorship program are as follows:
Mentors and mentees will meet in person during DLBCN for a 30 minute friendly conversation. Use the time for introductions first. Then, mentees can ask questions related to research and their career. Mentors and mentees will be put in touch a few days before the symposium by e-mail. You can schedule this in-person meeting at DLBCN according to your convenience, during the lunch time, poster sessions or coffee breaks.
After the symposium, mentees and mentors are expected to keep in touch. Mentors should provide feedback, help, and career advice for at least 6 months. We suggest scheduling a 30-minute monthly meeting.
Students and researchers interested in receiving mentorship will be matched with more senior researchers that will share experience and career advice. There will be mentors with different backgrounds, coming either from industry or academia, and have studied/worked abroad and/or in Barcelona. The matchings will be done based on the mentee's interests and the mentor's backgrounds.
If you are interested in receiving mentorship please fill out this form before December 16th EOD.
If you are interested in being a mentor, please fill out this form before December 16th EOD. Please note that to be a mentor, you should have either 5 years of research experience after your PhD or 5 years of professional experience in industry.
